The season on the Romanian coast generally runs from mid June to early September. The water is warmest in late July and August, which is also when it is busiest. June and September are quieter and cheaper. Summer weekends fill first, whatever the month.
June
The start of the season. The air is warm, the water still cool in the first half of the month and warming towards the end.
The beach is open and the terraces are running but not full. A good period if you want quiet and are not set on long swims.
July
High season. The water warms noticeably, the days are long and everything is open.
It gets busier week by week. Booking early matters most now.
August
The warmest water of the season and the biggest crowds. The month with the most events along the coast.
At Cap Aurora, being a small resort, the beach stays less crowded than in the larger resorts, even in August.
September
The first half of the month is often the best part of the season: the water is still holding a whole summer of heat and the crowds have gone home with the school year.
Prices drop, the beach empties and the towns nearby are far easier to visit.
